Online learning is a superfast method to share ideas, concepts, knowledge and topics through internet and its services. It is all about how we learn and communicate without being present at a physical environment. It is flexible and accessible to all. Online learning serves as a great medium to those who have a hectic schedule of doing jobs and handling personal life. But just as a coin has 2 sides. Online learning has also upsides and downsides. There is no doubt it has a quick way to reaching a massive audience at once which is not possible in offline learning which requires a space. Also it enhances one’s learning power and gives a different dimension to understand things rather than just what is in the book. It is too unique which usually combines fun and education with advanced technology . But this is not just the case. There are many downsides of it as well , let’s look at that one by one.

The major disadvantage that online learning comes from is that it doesn’t consist of any physical presence and there is no personal and face-to-face interaction with people. It reduces our ability to understand in many cases. It is also said that it does not do well with complex subjects that requires stuff to teach with. Subjects like chemistry or physics need to conduct experiments, which is not possible in online learning. It is also not good with self discipline and conscientiousness. Students lack a sense of commitment to fulfill their tasks on time and procrastinate a lot. It may also concern about lack of curricular activities. Apart from studies it is also important that children get to participate in other activities. As one might not be the best in academics , he/she should get the chance to indulge in an activity which best suits his/her interest.

There is less space for feedback and is not spontaneous. Students hesitate while speaking in class making it difficult for the teachers to validate their teaching method. They do not open their camera or even speak in class. They get very attached to their comfort zone which ultimately decreases their productivity and reduces their time to do other things. Being at one place aches the mind and often reduces our creativity to try new and different things. it is probably safe to say that online learning may not be a good option for a student who is below average in academics and need special attention. Students find it difficult to cope with new way of learning and adapt to it.
